Rails 3.0 Beta and jQuery 1.4 released

If you haven’t heard yet, Rails 3 pre-release came out last night thanks to the Rails team. jQuery 1.4 was also released recently. This means a lot when it comes to web development, and especially with Just Professionals. We want to make sure we are staying updated with the latest web technologies.

If you want to get started with Rails 3.0 beta, here is how you can install it:

# Use sudo if your setup requires it
gem install tzinfo builder i18n memcache-client rack rake rack-test rack-mount erubis mail text-format thor bundler
gem install rails --pre

If you would like to grab the latest jQuery from the Google CDN, you can use this URL

http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4/jquery.min.js

We will be starting development on a new web application, and I plan to implement these. I will be sure to post more information on how the integration and upgrades go.

Less is more.. I like jquery simply because it works, been using it and i like everything about it.
